Hi there,

Any suggestion to send documents on pdf converted from a photo? Or some similar app?

Thanks!

    Absolutely!

I use OpenScan in my FOSS profile. The quality is sometimes a tad sloppy for my taste, but the app is straightforward and seemingly quite honest.

Elsewhere, I use CamScanner on the free plan with network permission removed. The visual filtering algorithms produce cleaner results IMO, but the app seems less trustworthy to me.

I will mention PhotoScan by Google, which is great for scanning glossy photos like the type you might see in a family photo album, without glare. I do not have experience setting it up on GoS, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Lastly, I'll mention that a Chinese company called CZUR makes nice hardware for bulk scanning manuals / books on desktop OSes. However expect a $250+ purchase, and I cannot speak to the company's security or privacy practices.

    Hope this helps!

      a year later

I just installed pixel camera mainly because of its feature to detect documents and export them as documents. But at least on my installation (no network allowed, no google play, google framework installed), that functionality just is not there.

Googles App "photoscan" does not export as PDF.
