I have configured a glinet router to act as my WiFi router.
It is connected via ethernet cable to my main router to receive signal and to transmit it wirelessly
My main router has WiFi disabled and it is only used for wire connections for TV, Android box, PS etc..

Resurr Test that VPN doesn't leak. Stop VPN, make sure devices connected to the router can't use Internet, I.e. not using plain ISP connection.
DeletedUser115 it is difficult to use vpn on open wrt. You must always manually update servers. And servers fail after some time. Sometimes after few minutes. Or am I missing something?
Resurr Servers fail that's true. I've been using wireguard on OpenWrt routers for a very long time and it's not that bad in practice. Mullvad mostly. Had to change server maybe 3 times a year.
Any recommendations on a particular model of glinet router folks have found work well?
applesbana GL-MT300N-V2 "Mango" works pretty well for me. Any model that is supported by OpenWrt should work.
