  • Absolutely tired of the WIFI toggle in android 13. Alternatives?

I can't give you a cool and fitting tip for your problem. I just want to say that I like your attitude concerning Google. I share it in general. ;)

And now back to topic...

You can toggle this easily with using NFC tags with "NFC Tools" and "NFC Tasks" by wakdev. These apps are great for automating stuff like this. You don't even need to use NFC to activate features, you can have it as a shortcut on home screen. Maybe some of the features recuires you to purchase the Pro-edition, but it's cheap. You could have a NFC tag by you front door, one on your nightstand, one in the car, one in the workplace etc. 🙂

DeletedUser98 I guess you just wanted to blow off some steam. Fair enough.

No. The mud throwing is only secondary, an opportunity I couldn't pass up! I AM really looking for a 1 click solution. And as schuubert44 said, you are not counting the return actions back to the home screen. Its actually 5 or 7 in total.

spiral Actually it seems like it's a big difference to OP, and I'd agree with them.

Yes. A pretty big pain point for me, enough to throw a fit on the forum here. A pain point for a LOT of people.

Panda-na Thanks for this suggestion, quite cool. Though I don't wanna use actual NFC. I'll look into this app.

imbatman This is interesting. How do you install shizuku? Is it complicated? Do I need to have root? Does it introduce any security vulnerabilities?

Shizuku requires enabling USB debugging. That significantly reduces the security of your device, and thus it's strongly recommended not to use it.

Shizuku does not require root. I suggest you take a look at their own documentation: shizuku.rikka.app

        Shizuku requires enabling USB debugging.

Shizuku reduces the security of your device, no doubt about that. However, Shizuku does not require USB debugging. Instead you can use wireless debugging, which works independent of USB debugging. Wireless debugging is not required to be enabled all the time and therefore can be disabled after starting Shizuku.

I do it WITHOUT any actions required... I don't even need to pick up the phone... It goes like this: honey can you turn the router off, thx. Done! ;(

Thanks but for me it's not working.
It's working but when I click on the wifi toggle, it's off but it's don't on because shizuku need wireless debugging again but WiFi is off :(
Very very annoying, I alternate why poor WiFi and poor gsm.

Really I don't understand Google choice, even for Bluetooth we need more clicks for nothings.
Big regressions (airplane mode who don't shutdown WiFi and Bluetooth too !)

If you are not happy with one swipe and two taps to reach the WiFI toggle, you can place a shortcut widget on the homescreen: Settings > Internet, which will put you one tap away from WiFi toggle.

Google Voice Assistant? "Hey Google, Turn off Wifi". Some ever-so-slightly annoying requirements for that, admittedly...

Is it rude to ask why you are using Android 13?
