So here is my reflexion : when I first installed GrapheneOS I created two profiles :

  • one for my everyday/non invasive apps, without Google services,
  • one for invasive apps, with Google services (mainly Whatsapp).

After a while, I noticed that all of my invasive apps worked fine even without Google services (no notification for Whatsapp, but since it was hosted by a profile switched off 98% of the time, notification functionality was useless).
Now that Contact scopes will be available, I consider canceling the second profile and leaving all of my apps on the same profile, eventually killing the most invasive when I don't use them. What do you think ?

It makes sense as long as you're fine with those apps seeing the other apps you have and being able to communicate with them with mutual consent. Seeing the other apps likely doesn't matter since they can already see the others in their current separate profile, and those are the ones more likely to share data in an invasive way.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I have only 2 invasive apps, Whatsapp being one of them. I don't want to give that app access to all my contacts in my contact list, only the ones I use for Whatsapp.

My other invasive app is not a big tech associated all, so hopefully I won't communicate with Whatsapp.
