Hi,

I am not sure but I think it is the other way around: You have to be in your owner profile and set the toggle there: https://grapheneos.org/features#notification-forwarding
I suppose if one shuts down a secondary profile, then it cannot post notifications to the major profile, whatever the parameters are set ...
I think we've all ventured down a merry path that isn't related to the OPs question. The question as I read it just refers to notification 'sounds' not the cross profile notifications themselves.
I have just run a test while logged into a secondary user profile myself and experienced the following:
SMS, Signal and Whatsapp messages did not produce a sound or vibration.
Cellular, Signal and Whatsapp calls produced a sound and rang out as they would regardless of being in secondary user.
Reflux Does this setting have any privacy/security impacts other than the current user seeing the notification?
DesktopCloneLanguage it does in so far as it places notifications on the lockscreen (Shoulder Surfers etc being the issue) however if you've turned on the feature to send notifications to a profile that doesn't have lockscreen notifications then no, no privacy issues.

Is this still how cross-profile notifications work today? Because I am weeks in search how to get sound notification by Signal or Whatsapp messages cross-profile. Then found this old topic, and makes everything clear, so I was misunderstood about the cross-profile notifications. I do get sound when a Signal or WhatsApp call come from another profile, but no sound with message.
