Hi all.

I'm planning on removing Neo Store an F-Droid client from my phone (no particular reason other than minimalism) the only app it's now keeping track of updates is Aurora Store.

It I delete Aurora Store and re-install from another source (I.e. Obtainium or Vanadium) will it mess with/ stop app updates currently installed from Aurora?

And lastly, Does Aurora store update itself?

Thanks all.

Graphene1 it is funny and little bit unnerving that you mention it. So many of us rely on Aurora store and it has not received any updates in over a year...

In my experience, yes. I transitioned all of my apps (well all the apps that have its APK on github or own website that is) to Optanium a month ago and I had to reinstall said apps as Obtanium couldn't update them.

Luckily for me all the apps in question had the option to export/import settings and data so it wasn't such a big deal for me.

After the initial hassle I've been a happy camper though. Obtainium is a real gem.

Can anyone add Aurora to Obtainium? I'm getting a no APK found when adding the GitLab releases page

Hi, just wanted to ask here if it's true that Aurora Store does not notify you when there is a new version of itself? So you need F-Droid or Obtainium to keep the Aurora Store application updated?

Viewpoint0232 I'd like to know as well
Recently I've realized I've been sitting on the same version for few months when I saw on GitLab there have been two or three new releases since

I pasted the Aurora OSS releases URL in Obtainium and receive Aurora updates there.

I did that before and moved back to the F-Froid repos fpr open source apps.
The very big plus for me was, that all apps on F-Droid are tracker-free.

wonder75 iv completed a full 360, stopped using Aurora a while ago. I now use Google Play in Private Space for banking and Obtainium for the very few apps I now use in the main profile
