Hello all,

I am having some trouble, where the night light does not turn on automatically as expected in a secondary profile. Here is how to reproduce the problem:

  1. Sign in to secondary profile and set both night light and dark mode to be on from sunset to sunrise.
  2. During daytime, restart the device.
  3. Wait until night time, then sign in to the secondary profile.

You will see that dark mode is on, while night light is off! Even though both are set to come on automatically at sunset. Why does the setting work for one but not the other?

I have noticed that Night Light will only abide by the set schedule in a second profile if the profile is active. If the profile is shut off, logging in for instance after sunset will not trigger Night Light.

spiral Okay, but why will Dark mode abide by the schedule even if the profile is not active? Why is Night Light not triggered along with Dark Mode?

I don't have the reasons why - I was merely pointing out my observation of Night Light.

I experience similar issues with the Do not disturb schedule. I haven't really investigated how or when exactly, but my work profile is almost always on Do not disturb, as it seems to turn the DND on, but not off in the morning. The profile is usually running, but not active.
Seems to be some issues with the profiles I assume.

I have started having troubles with the Night Light setting starting this week. The setting was sunset to sunrise. It stopped working this week remaining in night mode for all times. I am able to work around issue by setting fixed times. But something changed recently making it not work using sunset/sunrise setting.

mrtoo You need to have the global location toggle enabled on your device to use sunrise/sunset times for night light scheduling.

I have Location services including SUPL (GOS proxy) enabled. I do not see a "global location".

mrtoo Got to Settings > Location and enable the toggle 'Use Location'.

treequell Yes, that is what I did. Location has always been enabled for me. I did toggle it off/on, rebooted. Problem persists. Sunset/sunrise setting keeps night light on always.

I also have an issue with spoofing GPS. It once worked for me using Windscribe, now it doesn't. And recently night light stopped functioning correctly. Both functions are related to location capabilities. I wonder if they are related somehow. However, I have no issues with my mapping and weather apps which also need location.

I have scheduled on/off times for nightlight, and it has a tendency to not turn itself on or off in profiles running but not active. I'll switch profiles, and it will be in the wrong state, while the toggle is in the correct state. I will have to toggle it once to make the toggle match the night light, then again to make both go to the correct state for the current time.
