andrewteg When you tap on check for updates, you'll get a notification thats says that you're fully up to date, or if there is a new version, it'll start downloading.
If you don't see said notification, it's possible that you've disabled that notification channel for the system updater app.
matchboxbananasynergy do you know which one to look for? I've got the same scenario. I click on "Check for updates" and nothing, absolutely nothing happens, no feedback at all. Pixel 7, latest beta.
I never felt like checking for updates, since system updates and updates to "Apps" are being done automatically, and periodic notifications ensure I'm always on the latest version...
matchboxbananasynergy Yeah, forget it, it was my fault, as suggested, I checked if everything was giving notifications on the "system updater" app and boom, seems like I disabled the "Already updated" one that spammed me daily. Well, now I now how to know. Thanks pal!

andrewteg It currently shows successful update checks as a silent, collapsed notification. It doesn't currently provide a separate user interface for reporting manual update check success. If there's an error, it uses a silent, non-collapsed notification which appears in the status bar and on the lockscreen, unlike the collapsed ones for successful checks where no update was found. If an update was found, it will similarly be a non-collapsed notification appearing in those places rather than only hidden at the bottom. We plan to eventually add feedback to the update settings page about when the last successful or failed update check occurred to provide direct feedback there.
alex_herrero By default, it's silent/hidden/collapsed, so it won't bother you in the status bar or lockscreen and you can simply ignore it at the bottom of the notifications. It's not meant to be swiped away, just left there to easily check when the last update occurred. We provide a similar silent/hidden/collapsed notification for Auditor remote attestation (not enabled by default) and the app repository client. It's your choice if you want them but we think it's useful.

Makes sense and that's exactly how it works and functioned for me. Notification was there "out of the box" so I must have hit Clear All w/o even realizing that was there as a silent notification since I was testing out some other app installs.
