GrapheneOS on OEM locked phone

Hi, I recently purchased a Google Pixel literally just so I could use GrapheneOS. After receiving the phone, I tried to unlock the OEM and it won't let me. The option to do it is greyed out and says "unavailable on carrier-locked devices". I tried contacting Mint Mobile (where I got the phone through) and they said that once the phone is paid off it can be unlocked, but I don't necessarily trust that since they had to look up what an operating system was before giving me an answer. I tried figuring it out myself and I found that Mint Mobile allows OEM unlocking after 60 days, but I don't know how accurate that is either. Is there a workaround or do I need to return the phone? Is there any OS I can install?

I wouldn't worry about that. Customer service reps aren't usually tech experts (or even basically knowledgeable). They just follow a script.

Mint is a reputable company, and if they told you they would unlock it, it's likely they will.

There is no workaround, other than paying off the phone, or possibly waiting 60 days.

Nope. You're stuck on stock until you can unlock.

No workarounds. And I would also check if the 60 days means carrier unlock, that simply means using it with
other SIM cards, or OEM unlock which is what you need for GOS.
