Mystified3527 The Pixel 8's fingerprint sensor is generally not great, so this happens to my fingerprint as well, though in my experience its not linked to updates.
It's interesting that people have such widely different experiences with how accurate the fingerprint readers are. The reader on my Pixel 8 has been excellent from day one, recognizing my finger on the first try somewhere like 99.8%. I've had it for a year, with a Spigen screen protector, and never had an issue.
I have heard that the accuracy decreases if you add more than one fingerprint.
