I can't tell if it has to do with the update, but my fingerprint was no longer recognized on my Pixel 8. After re-registering it, unlocking works fine.

The Pixel 8's fingerprint sensor is generally not great, so this happens to my fingerprint as well, though in my experience its not linked to updates. There is a good chance it has nothing to do with the update.

The location jumps around every second, like before. Just open CoMaps and look the map.

LazyT With Wi-Fi based network location when GNSS is not available? That's expected as of now due to the variations in Wi-Fi signal strength which are used to estimate the distance to use for locating you using lateration.

Perhaps this could be somewhat mitigated by checking sensor data in some way.

Is this a major issue for you?

Regarding location on Pixel 8a, sometimes regular GNSS takes very long to lock location, or doesn't even work sometimes. Is there any known issues? Latest stable.

You can start a new thread with this question. The latest stable isn't the release this thread is about.

Quick suggestion would be to either turn on wifi or enable wifi scanning in location settings.

Don't know the answer to the other question related to this release, though.

Could the caches location data, never expire ? 10000 tower cell in phone cache would work for a large area perhaps 200 km and more.

Hat It could, but it would essentially mean storing a location history of where you've been. We plan to have an option to download a database of positioning data for Wi-Fi APs and cell towers pertaining to specific areas instead, which would only reveal that you are somewhere in those areas.

I still can't lock the screen of my Pixel 8 pro secondary profile with power button after changing the second factor pin. I don't really want to delete that profile and start everything again.

other8026 Yes, I'm probably the one. I don't understand if it's a bug or something else. This profile contains banking apps which is a bit annoying.

Did you try disabling your lock method completely, rebooting, and setting a new one?

Before that, check to see if this is turned on in the screen lock options:
"Power button instantly locks"

EverettCMarm this release hasn't made it to Stable yet. It's currently in Beta, so just be patient for another day or two. Optionally you could change your release channel, but I'd say it makes more sense to wait at this point.

Wanted to report that after the initial reboot from installing stable my messaging app was unable to send receive or delete messages. I had to reset mobile settings AND reboot again to get it working.

I don't know if this is the result of this release or the app updating, but Windscribe VPN does not work. Cannot connect to any servers, after resetting the app I cannot log in.

Pavestone2734 After downgrading the apk I found it was not caused by the OS itself. It still could be a combination of the two though.
