I have my wife on the pixel 6 so i can get an idea of how easy this device is for non-technical people to use as a daily driver. After all it seems like thats the end goal: ease of use so ANYONE can pull off of googles teats.
there are some functions that used to be simple 1 click items that now take like 5 or 6 moves to make. she was just trying to rotate a picture on a "google" account and there were extra "rotate" buttons that did nothing. it was nice to see an "edit" icon in the bottom left corner, but that icon only exists for the non-admin accounts?
it may be something with the page and where the images are aggregated, but saving an image by holding the pic and pulling up an options panel doesnt exist when viewing from duckduckgo's image results. since the browser is bundled from another developer that may be more of a "them" problem but again, to a common user that isnt very tech-savy all they see is "this phone" and how it doesnt work as easily as googles system.
the "recent apps" section is now this weird slanted movement that doesnt always work. instead of having an easy button to hit thats easily associated with "recent apps" theres this gesture motion I had to stumble on MYSELF. and to make it worse the gesture has to be "held" sometimes and others its just a swipe, its confusing and non-intuitive.
last item for now: theres no shared folder to transfer files or share between profiles. Im not saying the whole system needs to be exposed to each user, but a small shared folder thats password protected or ported from the admin side down to the other accounts would be helpful. think like a ported share drive in dropbox.
look i know im doggin hard on small shit when otherwise this OS is fantastic. I LOVE that theres multiple profiles available for services. i think its cool that if you shut a profile down, the services stop so it looks like the phones just completely off to google. but like i said all these issues are going to make it hard for "normies" to adopt it if they arent fixed somehow.
