I have my wife on the pixel 6 so i can get an idea of how easy this device is for non-technical people to use as a daily driver. After all it seems like thats the end goal: ease of use so ANYONE can pull off of googles teats.

there are some functions that used to be simple 1 click items that now take like 5 or 6 moves to make. she was just trying to rotate a picture on a "google" account and there were extra "rotate" buttons that did nothing. it was nice to see an "edit" icon in the bottom left corner, but that icon only exists for the non-admin accounts?
it may be something with the page and where the images are aggregated, but saving an image by holding the pic and pulling up an options panel doesnt exist when viewing from duckduckgo's image results. since the browser is bundled from another developer that may be more of a "them" problem but again, to a common user that isnt very tech-savy all they see is "this phone" and how it doesnt work as easily as googles system.
the "recent apps" section is now this weird slanted movement that doesnt always work. instead of having an easy button to hit thats easily associated with "recent apps" theres this gesture motion I had to stumble on MYSELF. and to make it worse the gesture has to be "held" sometimes and others its just a swipe, its confusing and non-intuitive.
last item for now: theres no shared folder to transfer files or share between profiles. Im not saying the whole system needs to be exposed to each user, but a small shared folder thats password protected or ported from the admin side down to the other accounts would be helpful. think like a ported share drive in dropbox.

look i know im doggin hard on small shit when otherwise this OS is fantastic. I LOVE that theres multiple profiles available for services. i think its cool that if you shut a profile down, the services stop so it looks like the phones just completely off to google. but like i said all these issues are going to make it hard for "normies" to adopt it if they arent fixed somehow.

Maybe you were using the standard gallery app to modify the picture. Not going to lie, the gallery app is pretty awful, so maybe you will want to install something better. Non FOSS apps would include Lightroom (never tried it but I hear it's good) or Photoshop. I use Simple Gallery Pro, which is available on F-Droid. I don't like it much, but it's way better than the default gallery app.

Don't know which options panel you're talking about. The website should function exactly as it does on other phones. The browser that's bundled in GrapheneOS, Vanadium, is a slightly modified version of Chromium. Chromium, if you don't know, is the open source browser Google Chrome is built off of.

MethRaptor instead of having an easy button to hit thats easily associated with "recent apps" theres this gesture motion I had to stumble on MYSELF.

You can get those buttons back! Just do this:

Settings > System > Gestures > System navigation

    Then pick 2-button or 3-button

MethRaptor last item for now: theres no shared folder to transfer files or share between profiles.

Many people ask for that, but it probably won't happen. Your best bet is to either use a thumb drive or install something like Dropbox in the profiles you want to share data between.

i want to start with gestures. thank you. i guess i should take some time and just get lost in the settings a while and see what i find. that was way too easy to find though and i feel kind of dumb for not looking around harder to find that setting.

im glad im not the only one asking for a local shared folder. maybe ill add dropbox or proton drive or something as a stop-gap.

as for pics, im torn between "grabbing a new app that fits better and just disable the default" and "youd expect the app the developers chose would work best"
i have to remind myself this is a much smaller dev team than apple and google but it is still frustrating for normal people. its cool though. ill see about installing lightroom.

Have you tried Syncthing? It could be that "something"...

After using GOS for a couple of weeks, I appreciate this honesty. I agree!

It isn't really a question of the developers choosing some application, the gallery is provided by AOSP.

I'd suggest taking a look at Aves Gallery, which is what I've been using lately. It's also on Accrescent!

Regarding the AOSP Gallery app, do keep in mind that the GrapheneOS team knows it's not great, and the plan is to eventually replace it. It's just a matter of time/resources.
