a locked bootloader doesnt prevent a factory reset as far as i know

Lucario1829 It was in case I went through flashing via the Graphene OS installer, in recovery mode I land on no command, then by pressing the power button + volume up I land on waiting for rescue command.

Amnov I have been stuck on the "No command" screen in recovery mode.

Now all you have to do is hold the power button and press volume up once, the graphical user interface will open and from there you can select factory reset.

Obviously all data is lost, no way around that if you can't remember the pin/password.

I tried pressing the power button + volume up and power button + volume down, but I end up in fastboot mode with a locked bootloader, or I press volume up and I get to no command... and when I ask ChatGPT, it confirms that if the bootloader is locked, nothing can be done...

I think that Graphene OS prevents the reset via recovery mode.

If you end up in rescue mode, the most probable reason is that you haven't followed the directions correctly. Or perhaps you didn't wait long enough between steps 4 and 5 and you started pressing buttons again.

You're in the wrong place, recovery mode is where you want to be, not rescue mode. If you're stuck in rescue mode the way to get out of there is to just wait, your device should reboot after a few minutes.

fastboot ---> recovery mode ---> "No command", then I hold down the power button and press volume up and release everything ---> waiting for rescue command, and no matter if I then hold for 5, 10 or 15 seconds, or any other manipulation, I arrive at the message "waiting..."

Amnov The text "No command" means that no command has been passed to recovery.

You can access the recovery menu by holding down the power button and pressing the volume up button a single time. This key combination toggles between the GUI and text-based mode with the menu and log output.

You can then use the volume buttons to select what to do next from the menu options.

Amnov press down the power button and volume up button, the power button SLIGHTLY before the volume up. It may take a few times, do not press and hold. Reattempt if it doesn't work.

GrapheneOS does NOT prevent factory resetting from the recovery screen. You can do it, you just need to access the user interface.
