  • Google Maps - would multiple cloned apps get detected by Google in GrapheneOS

Hello, all. I am about to buy Google Pixel 7 and switch to GrapheneOS.

This is a question with regards to privacy, in terms of the Google Maps app, and using multiple cloned apps.

Theoretically speaking, if I was to clone the Google Maps app in GrapheneOS and have several versions of the same Google Maps app (but with different Google Play accounts) would Google know I am using the same device for each cloned app?

Usually when it comes to cloning apps, they don't know, but the problem with Google is they normally have full access to your whole phone. With GrapheneOS, this seems to be different. Which is why I'm asking this question.

You can install Google Maps and then delete the Google account in the settings. This will also log you out of Google Maps and you can continue to use it without an account.

If one was to write a 5 star GMB Review on each app, you would need a (different) logged in Google account for each app without it tracking the rest of your phone info
