TradingView stopped working on GOS since the app updated

As the title suggests the app TradingView stopped working for me since the app updated.

It's also not working with google play services installed and exploit protection compatibility mode enabled.

Does anyone else experience the same issue?

I can confirm the "stopped working" behaviour. This is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tradingview.tradingviewapp

On stock PixelOS, the app launches fine.

Description of the "stopped working" behaviour

When the app is launched, the app shows a logo and never proceeds beyond that point. The system eventually notifies me that the app is not responding, and provides an ANR log.

Steps to reproduce

Install the app from Play Store
Open the app

What has been attempted so far without luck

Enabled "exploit protection compatibility mode" for the app and relaunched it
Disabled secure app spawning, disabled "exploit protection compatibility mode" for the app, rebooted the phone and relaunched the app

DeletedUser370 I suspect there's no way to get it working on GrapheneOS unless the app developer reverts whatever changes they've made?

UpStream That's unclear at this point. We may be able to make a minor change to get it working again similar to what we did to get Revolut working again.

Came here to report the same issue.

Since the new OS update, can't check my watchlist anymore. App completely stopped working and gave a crash report.

Do we know why it stoped working? Are they blocking GrapheneOS or started they using SafetyNet? And is there a way we can protest those changes?

flogruenwald only way that worked for me was to download the version before the current one trough Aurora Store. This old version still works:

Disclaimer: Aurora Store is not as safe as the official Play Store. But I don't know if it's possible to download old app versions trough Play Store.

Fgjffhbf578 android doesn't let you install an older version of an app "over" a newer version.

You have to uninstall tradingview in all grapheneos profiles before you can install the old, working version.

@GrapheneOS No need to waste too much time on that since it's not an essential app like a banking app would be.
It's just an "enhancement" to a broker you already have.

I had a ticket open with tradingview, downgrading fixed the issue for me, I've linked them here. Hopefully their Devs investigate.

While browsing for an older .APK file, I found this modded APK that supposedly has the premium version of tradingview unlocked. It's on a site called [redacted]

There is also the regular 1.20.47.1.1001655 version.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows this site and if it's safe? Especially the modded version I'm skeptical about.

If somebody were to post here that it's safe, that would open the door for an unscrupulous party to update it to be unsafe. So any possible assurances should arguably not be reassuring.

But I guess the answer is no, not safe.

A bit ironic that this behavior is the same as Google or certain apps' blanket distrust towards any non-stock OS like GrapheneOS.
