  • Does GrapheseOS support rooted adb?

Hi, \
I don't want to root my phone using something like magisk, but I want to use root abd. I know it breaks android security model, and grapheseos is security and privacy first, but hear me out. \
There's a bug in upstream, causing wallpaper warped on other user profile. While I was fiddling with rooted adb on lineageos, I used rooted adb to push wallpaper into /data/system/users/10/wallpaper, and the wallpaper wasn't warped. It stays the same even I change wallpaper on owner profile. Although, it won't create matching color scheme, I don't have to look at a warped wallpaper again. \
Does GrapheseOS have such feture? Or I should use TWRP to achieve this?

I thought this bug had been fixed. What device model do you use?

But like the others already said: Rooting is not supported by GrapheneOS. While I understand that this may be an annoying bug, I don't think this should be a reason to destroy your security.

In a non-production userdebug build for development, but not in any official release.

It was always possible to work around it and it should be at least mostly resolved now.

You can't use either on official GrapheneOS releases with official updates. You wouldn't be using GrapheneOS.

I can’t understand why anyone would want to root a secure android device when you can just run android emulators for free on a pc or laptop and enable root access on them, I use that kind of setup to edit my games and game saves when root in needed

      (1) Automatic call recording (the dialer only supports MANUAL recording),
      (2) full and complete backups.
      (3) hosts based adblocking.

      There's other reasons too.
