Hi guys! I have a Pixel 7. It seems in the last few days, my fingerprint reader in work profile (where I keep my banking apps) is acting really weird. The main profile unlocks properly, and the secure apps such as bitwarden which have biometrics enabled also work just fine.

But the work profile...It seems unable to enable biometrics for any app. It works to unlock the work profile with the fingerprint but then, it's all weird shenanigans. Bitwarden, when you click to enable the biometrics, it prompts for the fingerprint, validates...and closes/crashes. Upon reopening, biometrics are still disabled. I've enabled biometrics on my banking apps a few times by now. It asks for the fingerprint, asks for SMS validation, says it's enabled...and then nex time I start the app, it prompts for biometrics (yay) AND THEN IMMEDIATELY, ALSO FOR THE PASSWORD (nay). Afterwards it always says "biometric data updated".

Seems something's off with the fingerprint identification in the work profile. I've tried deleting all fingerprints on the work profile, and just re-creating them again, but it keeps happening.

Any ideas?

I'm having a similar issue with fingerprint authentication in apps; most notably all apps in the shelter work profile that use this feature.
Unlocking the phone using fingerprint works like a charm, so no issues there.
The fingerprint authentication feature in apps within the shelter work profile, however, completely broke after the updates this week. I'm not sure which one, but all was fine last week Saturday.

My banking app stopped asking for fingerprint all together, even though it is enabled (and has been enabled since day 1) in the settings. Another app does come up with the fingerprint prompt, but when successfully authenticating the fingerprint does not follow through and stays on the logon screen, forcing me to put the pin code. There's also an app that at first doesn't show the fingerprint prompt and forces a pin code, but after putting in the correct pin code suddenly shows the fingerprint prompt.

I tried disabling and re-enabling fingerprint authentication, both in OS or apps, to no effect.

It does seem to correctly authenticate the fingerprint presented, because providing the wrong print does give the 'invalid print' result. Correct prints seem to satisfy the fingerprint prompt but nothing happens from that point on.

Does anyone have the same issues or maybe even a solution?

    BlueFox43 same issue for me on my 7a too. Just found this thread looking for a solution.

        Same issue for me on a 7 Pro, since approximately a week or so.

        However, not all work profile apps crash/error out when using biometric auth.

        These apps still unlock with biometrics correctly:

        • Revolut banking app
        • IO public services app

        The latter is open source (https://github.com/pagopa/io-app), if it might help in pinpointing the issue.
