  • Lockscreen exposing my running apps?

Hello all,

I have inadvertently discovered that the lockscreen exposes "active apps". When the user swipes down from the top of the screen twice, the bottom-left holds an indicator of how many apps are active. Tapping on this indicator reveals the names of these apps. My concern is that these app names can be seen from the lockscreen without authenticating. Swiping down anywhere on the lockscreen prompts for authentication, except for from the very top where it does not.

If I am using Tor Browser, Orbot, etc, I might consider it a private matter that I even have such apps on my phone. But anyone can discover that these apps are running on my locked device. What can be done about this? Surely there is some toggle to hide it?

No, there's no way to hide that list right now. There's an open issue for it in the GrapheneOS issue tracker. Hopefully it's fixed soon, preferably upstream in AOSP, but in the meantime maybe GrapheneOS devs might have time to fix it temporarily.

unwat Good to know they are aware. Is this present on the stock Pixel OS too?

        Harald

Yes. It's an AOSP feature, not something added by GrapheneOS.
