I have had my Pixel 8 running GrapheneOS for about three weeks now. I love it and I have spent a lot of time searching these forums and learning a lot.
I know this has been discussed several times however I don't think it has as it applies to my situation. When I installed GrapheneOS, Android 15 had been released so that's the version of Android I have. However, Google Services Framework evidently is not bundled with Graphene's release. I probably would never have noticed nor cared except that MySudo seems to require GSF in order to receive calls. Or, more specifically, to notify the user that a call is coming in. I've followed the instructions that worked in the past but, without GSF, I don't think that continues to work.
With all of that said, is it advisable to download a GSF APK? Would that even work? Would it still run sandboxed?
Sorry for all of the questions. Thank you for any insight!
MySudo on new GrapheneOS (Android 15) install
Shortly after typing this, I removed MySudo, Google stuff from the Graphene App store, stopped GMSCompatConfig, rebooted, reinstalled Google Play (forced GMSCompatConfig to start), reinstalled MySudo, imported account and it worked! Just in case anyone is in this situation in the future, perhaps try those steps.
Just to make sure, did you download MySudo in the “Google Play Services” app or the “Aurora Store” app? I’ve been looking for a way to have a fully functional MySudo on my phone with Graphene. So I really want to make sure that I do everything right.
MikeHawk if you want to do it "right", GOS recommends downloading all applications via the google play store or accrescent.
Aurora/f-droid have security weaknesses, if you choose to use them, please keep that in mind.
