Hoping that this isn't a coincidence.

After the last system update of my Pixel 7 Pro - currently showing Android version 15 build number 2025030800, release channel Stable - the haptic behavior feels off. The haptic response when unlocking the phone or going to the home screen is very harsh - it feels too strong, and almost like the vibration has a "tail", or lasts too long. It has me concerned that the motor is running at too high an in intensity.

I reviewed the haptic options in the settings, and they seemed fine. I adjusted them and saved changes just to make sure that wouldn't fix it. Also tried a device restart. Still feels too intense.

Did any recent changes to the operating system imply changes to this part the device's software?

Not sure if I am reporting this kind of concern correctly, or if there is something I am missing.

Thanks

e: for others, another user on this forum mentioned this in the 2025030800 thread and shared this link suggesting it may be a Google issue https://arstechnica.com/google/2025/03/bad-vibes-google-may-have-screwed-up-haptics-in-the-new-pixel-drop-update/

I saw some articles stating that it is indeed an upstream issue from Google:

https://www.androidheadlines.com/2025/03/google-march-2025-update-wreaks-havoc-on-pixel-phones.html
"Google did already admit to haptic intensity issues and seems to be working on it. The exact statement is: “The Pixel team is actively looking into reports from some Pixel users about changes to haptic intensity. To adjust your vibration settings, you can go to Settings > Sound & vibration > Vibration & haptics.”"

Yes, it's an upstream change, not something that GrapheneOS did.
