IksNorTen i use pipepipe right now. It works even with orbot. All other apps are down on my device too. I have to mention that pipepipe did not work ecerytime in the past too. There are times where nothing works.
Theoredically you could try a closed source alternative frontend like greentube. But i wouldn't do it on the precious graphene device.
But i'm no pro so i can not give you real advice.

ACuriousFellow i've never logged in on my playstation and i never had an issue. And everytime i tryed out a closed source youtube frontend which directly connects to youtube, (i had to accept youtube terms of use which i never had to on foss yt frontends), i also had never issues.
Just want that throw in the conversation

Onlyfun i think micro G is way less "google" than sandboxed google play. I think it's extremly little.
I don't know much in detail but i would assume that revanced and other apps that connects your device to youtube in a way where you have to accept youtubes terms of condition and/or have to run microg/goggleplaysandboxed to make it work will result in more tracking or a higher risk of being fingerprinted than any of the other apps for example like newpipe, pipepipe ect.

For me, the latest PipePipe release (v4.1.3) resolves all issues I was experiencing. NewPipe v0.27.5 seems to improve things a bit, but there have been some periods of time where it continued to have issues.

i think micro G is way less "google" than sandboxed google play. I think it's extremly little.

It's an implementation of Google services and wouldn't be needed if they weren't using Google services through it. It consistently has poor security practices and we don't recommend using it in general.

I've been using YouTube front-ends for just over a year and it took some adjustments initially. There are a lot of moving parts to account for. My understanding is that many public instances (ie: yewtube) use upstream apps (like invidious) that use the YouTube API or yt-dlp themselves.

It's a constant cat and mouse game w/ Google. From my experience, if Google finds a way to block things, in a few days (or weeks) a workaround goes live and then works its way downstream, but it's up to each downstream client to install these updates in a timely manner. Then, on top of that, the standalone apps are still apps so they occasionally have completely separate bugs or changes themselves.

Personally, I self-host invidious through docker and then when it goes down, I check the issue section for more info and manually update my invidious when a change is rolled out. Separately, I have really enjoyed clipious (it integrates nicely with self-hosted invidious) and it still works for me, but there have been times when it went down on its own... for example, the developer turned on/off the proxy settings (can't remember which one) because ppl wanted higher quality streaming options and my app stopped working. Once I adjusted the setting, it was back to normal for me.

My suggestion, if you aren't doing it already is instead of switching apps, try switching instances and see if that makes a difference.

For reference, Newpipe Pipepipe are working on stock with Bitdefender VPN with wireguard protocol enabled.

PiNizz-Va-J-J yes microg was only 3-4 mb to download. but there was no youtube/google terms to use revanced, in fact every time there is a prompt to turn off battery optimization for the microg which can be ignored and the app works.

IksNorTen I switched to pipepipe and then used an anonymous account to login, works fine.
They are doing a lot of stuff to stop apps like newpipe at the moment including IP bans

Onlyfun correction, microg for revanced was almost 40mb, not 3-4.

Hello everyone thanks for your messages I have a good news, NewPipe and PipePipe seems to work since last update...

About ReVanced I think the biggest issue is not the app itself (as long as you patch it yourself) but microg, which is mostly a concern for your google account than your device itself (and your local data)

Have a beautiful day and I wish you all a happy and healthy 2025 year

PS : Also checked Tubular and it finally works too ! (Tubular is NewPipe with sponsorblock)

IksNorTen Youtube is banning some IP's (from VPN's) I can only listen audio on NewPipe using Mullvad

Anyone try /have thoughts on Greyjay? I just came across it recently.

My entire home-network isnt able to watch YouTube without an account (to verify I'm not a bot lol). I need to go through my mobile data or with VPN to get another public IP.
Restarting the router, or changing my DNS hasn't worked out.

A annoying workaround is to create yet another fake Google account from a complete different home-network and log-in every device with it (or acc per device).

With the trash-account it currently work in all major YT-Frontends for me .. not knowing how long.

Just wanted to share the Infos. Humanity really needs a YT alternativ.
