Hi,

https://wise.com/ (formerly TransferWise)

I'm hesitant to just experiment; they're using push notifications as 2FA and I might get 'locked out' of my account … (don't have a SIM card, so I can't use SMS for 2FA; there are no other options)

Is anyone using 'Wise' successfully on a Graphene device?

If so, do 'Google Play services' and/or 'Google Services Framework' have to be installed?

Cheers … ;)

greffer if they're dependent on push notifications for 2FA for peace of mind you should indeed install all 3 Play Services packages via the Play Store listing in the 'Apps' app. This should be done prior to installing Wise so that on first use they detect Play Services presence and can hook into FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to enable push properly.

Just ensure you follow to the letter the instructions on the site: https://grapheneos.org/usage#sandboxed-google-play-installation

This will ensure you have as few issues if any as possible.

greffer I use Wise multiple times a week without any problems. Push notifications for 2FA work just fine. I do use Google Play Services though so your mileage may vary without Google Play Services. I'd assume MetropleX is correct.

      Thanks for the replies.

OK, so I'll create a new User Account, specifically for Wise only, and install the Google components there.

greffer Just remember you MUST install all 3 sandboxed play services BEFORE you install Wise, not to do so will result in Wise not seeing them present, Play Services are detected on an apps FIRST USE.

If you have done it the other way round then uninstall and reinstall any apps requiring play services.

I can also report no issues running Wise with the sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer installed.

          a year later

Fox how did you download the app initially? Edit: Oh right sorry it’s a thread from the dead
