As mention in this discussion, the new app update made it impossible to log into Revolut after a new app installation / data wipe.

I'd like to learn about and discuss available alternatives. Personally I have two strong criteria:

  • the app must work on GrapheneOS
  • it must be available in Europe

In this reddit post someone mentioned:

    • Bunq
    • n26
    • monese
    • wise
    • Openbank

    I've also encountered

    • zen

    Any experiences with these?
Do their apps work in GrapheneOS?
    Do they have free tiers?

What is the matter with you and digital banking? Is it all Gen Z here? Traditional banking is more robust, has better customer service and has a history of operation, privacywise both categories are rubbish. With me, traditional banking wins because it works great on the web (should the app fail, which it likely won't). I bank with Barclays.

Could you please be so kind as to stop with this kind of gatekeeping? It is not the first time you are using a thread about a specific app to argue that GrapheneOS users should not use banking apps and instead use webpages. Especially since you have adopted a judgmental attitude, I feel it's getting tiring and is completely irrelevant to this topic. You can start a new topic about it. I'll flag your post if you continue judging people like this.

        Monese
        N26
        Wise
All work normally. I've not used Monese in months as its a bit rubbish, but it works.

          Hi,
As many of you, I'm disappointed by Revolut behavior.
I'm testing right now an app called : Sumeria.
It is the "banking" side of Lydia.

It is available in France, Monaco, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Italy and Luxembourg.
The origin of this app is French, and it is working well with GrapheneOS. (Except for the NFC payment part : it offers Google Pay, like Revolut). There is a free physical debit card.
But it seems to be a nice alternative. Still testing it now, I will share my results on akc3n page.

Edit : a French friend of mine used the card in Romania : no conversion fees.
