So I am going to make the swap but there's some apps I want to know where I stand on before I do so. I am also having problems with authy swap over to my pixel 7 pro from my old phone as it is. MS Auth is important as my workplace uses it.

Barclays banking app
Plex
Paypal
NordVPN
Blizzard Auth
Microsoft Auth
Ebay
Ocado
Signal
Gympass
Teams
Udemy
NordVPN
NordPass
Line
Hellotalk

    Signal - works;
MS Teams works, but unless your office forced to install MS Comp Portal to create a work profile.

Remember to install Google Play and Google Services Framework from Apps before installing app that you want Push Notifications for.

    Good luck

I use Line and Signal. Both work fine.

If you use Line Pay, though, maybe there might be a problem. I have had issues with my bank, so I'm not sure if it's the app or if it's my bank.

Plex is working fine on my P7 Pro. Didn't encounter any problems so far.

Great thanks where did you get it from? Also how is the camera app in comparison to stock? I've heard of images being significantly alrger in file size.

I don't have a Pixel 7Pro, but I use GrapheneOS on a Pixel 5. From your list here are the apps that I use that works with the google play sandbox:

          • Blizzard Auth
          • Microsoft Auth (I have a work profile with Teams, Outlook, OneDrive and Office. All apps are working fine)

I don't use Barclays as a bank, but my banking app works fine. I use ProtonVPN and Bitwarden, both works fine and the auto-fill features from bitwarden work fine as well.

          Hope that helps :)

Rubberduckzilla I installed it from the Google Play store.

And I also installed the Google camera to get some more features.

          From your list, I have

          • Signal
          • eBay
          • NordVPN: I use Mullvad VPN, but NordVPN should work just fine
          • Banking app: I use Chase, Venmo, Capital One, and Synchrony Bank. Barclays will work, too.
          • PayPal: I have written on a separate post (Play Store Apps That Don't Run on Graphene), that no matter what I've done, even from a virgin install of GrapheneOS, with our without Google Play, PayPal would not run: I get a solid yellow screen and nothing after that.

dcd-graphenediscuss Great thanks man. Only thing i;m cuurious on is if the camera pictures are as good and Teams/plex.
i've been really busy at work and the teams app is probably my most used app.

I just read teams works with notificaitons with sandboxed google services, so i've got to look up how to do that.

@SundarPichai Just curious, is there a reason you want the PayPal app instead of just using the browser? Are there features unavailable otherwise? I use PayPal quite a bit but only through the browser, am I missing out on something?

SundarPichai This issue has been discussed a lot. I'd read the previous discussions.

SundarPichai interesting, from my understanding and light research, installing apps will always be more invasive and less secure than a secured browser like vanadium. But I'm no expert so someone correct me if I'm wrong

GrouchyGrape secured browsers can still be compromised if a website is not secured. also when we're talking about companies the size of Paypal their app has a lot more work put into it for security. It is more invasive because it is their software on your device, but that's what user profiles are for. Any other app like weather, social media or reddit or shit like that, yeah run it from browser, who cares.

Browsing a website using Vanadium does benefit from the additional sandboxing of the browser. But the native app can come with additional security features not available to a website. Please see https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/107-comparing-security-of-using-website-or-app/2 for more information.

I encourage all of us to avoid making strong assertions unless we have the relevant technical knowledge. Please keep things professional here too and avoid bickering. I've had to remove a few of the comments here in light of that.
