Hi All,

So I have a few contacts that I use RCS with (unfortunately at the moment they wont switch to Signal or an alternative), and when testing GOS I got everything verified, however when I started a new chat it always says sending using SMS, I know the connection with RCS works as it does on stock OS, so I wasn't sure if I had missed something?

Has anyone else seen the same? and if they resolved it how did you manage it?

Thanks!

SpiderUser could someone maybe link the appropriate reply from that thread here? That's a very long thread. I don't know where to start. I've got RCS registered on my device, but I can't send any messages via RCS; only receive. I see an error of "recipient may be offline" which is not true since it's the same with everyone I chat with and I can receive RCS messages.

quaff interesting. After posting this, sending RCS messages work consistently. What a pain. I hope it stays this way.

quaff annnnd it's gone again. This time it says my SIM isn't compatible. This is wild.

By any chance would you happen to be on an MVNO? RCS was working fine for me on Verizon until I switched to a Verizon MVNO. Now it says my device is not currently compatible.

latticed_gully962 no I'm on TELUS, Canadian network. It seems to be working correctly and consistently now. Must have took a few days to configure properly?

latticed_gully962 I have the same problem. Device is currently not compatible lol. It worked well for months and than just stopped working. I gave up on Google Messages and just stick with Signal & WhatsApp. Don't want to waste any more time with that.

        I am using a Pixel 8a.

Lol it's back to not working again. The TELUS people swapped SIMs for me and it's still not working. I suspect it's something with GrapheneOS.
