andrej567 I see. I also came accross those apps when I was trying to simulate the bank card (which you can't cause of some security). Is it any useful for copying hotel card keys and simulate them with your phone? I mean I haven't found any app that you can do that

mgeo That mifare app is good to scan the rfid thing and
then you can use the log and use it for writing from pc to make a copy.

mgeo Curve and Quicko wallet aren't chinese companies

I hasn't started they are, it was more about distribution channel which is Huawei in that case.
None of two distribute apks with accompanying signatures from their official websites (at least I wasn't able to find one). Thus you either choose Google Play store or Huawei store as a source of an apk. Aurora is at least open and transparent front end.

Gasuky There is no NFC payment app that doesn't collect your data. And there are quite a few people who use those apps and, at the same time, GrapheneOS. It's something I don't quite understand. I'm on GrapheneOS to safeguard my personal data as much as possible. If I don't mind giving my personal data to an app that collects and shares it so I can make NFC payments, why don't you just reinstall the original operating system on your Pixel?

Personally I don't use my phone to pay for things, or want to. But I can easily imagine that somebody might be willing to provide payment data (which includes location coupled with timestamp when paying) but unwilling to provide a complete 24x7x365 location track, plus a stream of data about which Bluetooth devices are nearby, plus a large company's "digital assistant" listening to all conversations in one's home, plus many other things.

I don't think it must be "all or none".

mmobder they are certainly not open source apps. I think the apps that are on huawei store are uploaded by the app companies but maybe modified for optimal data collection by them or Huawei mobile services (not sure)

mgeo I wanted to clone one tag that the landlord presented as 'cannot be copied'. Copying was described on internet 10 years ago, even dummies like me can do it..

mgeo it's just a plastic mifare key fob that opens the door to the place with trash containers

andrej567 I see. Woah we aren't that advanced here.
Not even doors. I think only at hotels you find these NFC cards
