NFC Wallet app for virtual cards
- Edited
mgeo I heard ING before to have an NFC payment app. do they still have it?
Not that I know. Unfortunately all banks in Italy seem to be happy with relying on Google Pay; none that I know have their own NFC payment app. Or, at least, none that you can use at a standard POS terminal; some have their own proprietary ecosystems (which are not very widespread).

mgeo No they don't. I literally just switched to ING and this is how I came to this topic. I also emailed their support and got the expected answer of "we don't have any additional payment solutions at the moment, but are always checking about introducing new payment methods". Although I was also told that if they introduce anything like their own NFC payment app, I'd be informed.
RedPanda I came across another app, but I didn't try it. If anyone wants to try and let us know
Apparently Huawei will cooperate with it for their watches
It's called Quicko Wallet and you can get the apk from here:

I really understand everyone who has posted here, looking for a method to make NFC payments. I came here hoping to find something that would allow me to do so. But after reading some posts here and in other threads on the subject, I realize that people, in general, don't really know what we want. There is no NFC payment app that doesn't collect your data. And there are quite a few people who use those apps and, at the same time, GrapheneOS. It's something I don't quite understand. I'm on GrapheneOS to safeguard my personal data as much as possible. If I don't mind giving my personal data to an app that collects and shares it so I can make NFC payments, why don't you just reinstall the original operating system on your Pixel? You'll have an absolutely flawless system that allows you to do all of those things that GrapheneOS can't.
I just had a genius idea,
i'll put some cash into my phone case.
This will actually solve my problem i would normally solve with NFC payment:
we go for a walk with my daughter and she wants ice cream and my physical wallet is at home
mgeo doable but better disable cellphone nfc, in case it would interfere
mgeo there is the mifare rfid app that uses it. this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.syss.MifareClassicTool&hl=en_US

mgeo That mifare app is good to scan the rfid thing and
then you can use the log and use it for writing from pc to make a copy.
mgeo i have only this. it took me a day. i did it once

mgeo Curve and Quicko wallet aren't chinese companies
I hasn't started they are, it was more about distribution channel which is Huawei in that case.
None of two distribute apks with accompanying signatures from their official websites (at least I wasn't able to find one). Thus you either choose Google Play store or Huawei store as a source of an apk. Aurora is at least open and transparent front end.

Personally I don't use my phone to pay for things, or want to. But I can easily imagine that somebody might be willing to provide payment data (which includes location coupled with timestamp when paying) but unwilling to provide a complete 24x7x365 location track, plus a stream of data about which Bluetooth devices are nearby, plus a large company's "digital assistant" listening to all conversations in one's home, plus many other things.
I don't think it must be "all or none".
