d4f2 That indicates your web browser on the Pixel 4a was running out of memory. We're aware of the increased memory requirements for flashing 6th and 7th generation Pixels. We also think that the zip library used by fastboot.js regressed and uses much more memory than it did previously. This isn't specific to the experimental Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro support all and will be worked on separately. We could really use help with working on reducing fastboot.js memory usage, which mostly means improving the zip library, or upgrading / downgrading it to a version with lower memory usage.
Experimental GrapheneOS support for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro
Quick update:
BUG: GCam (play store Version) freezes when switching to 5x zoom in the video mode on the Pixel 7 pro
When you disable stabilization in the settings, 5x zoom starts working again in Video mode
IDK why though. Never had issues with the GCam on my p6p with GrapheneOS
@"GrapheneOS" I'm new to GOS after reading alot. Loving it. My one issue on my normal 7 is I cannot take any pics with the included camera app. The button turns dark gray and nothing happens. When i try clicking the gallery button it says please wait for picture to finish taking. When i click the swap cameras from back to front camera a gigantic error message appears. Something about java exception. Is no one else experiencing this? Taking a picture seems pretty basic so I'm worried my hardware is messed. It was taking pics fine on stock android with what i assume gcam is? Thanks and great job so far. Im verry happy i chose to buy a pixel and put on GOS.
Thx for the answers you all.
Does anyone so far have worse battery life on the experimental release than on the stock OS that came with the Pixel 7, obviously it says experimental, so I am not complaining, but my Pixel 7 had great battery life before switching to the OS.
I am just afraid that I got a faulty phone from Google again, happened on my Pixel 6 as well.
Had the same issue as d4f2 trying to use the web installer, but on a Pixel 4 XL. Vanadium's tab would keep crashing once inside fastbootd while writing the system. Tried a few times, rebooting in between but kept crashing at the same place.
Ended up using a command line on OpenSUSE and worked fine.

DeMArcus I have a Pixel 7 Pro that I loaded the experimental version of GrapheneOS on yesterday. Although 1 day is way to small a sample to do any type of statistical analysis on, yesterday I finished the day with 72% battery life. With my Pixel Pro 6 and GrapheneOS, I would end the day with anywhere between 65 and 75% battery life. So while 1 day does not indicate a pattern, based on my observation yesterday, I would say battery life is similar.
This is with adaptive brightness, wifi, lte and bluetooth all on. Although I didn't use a stopwatch to keep track, if I had to estimate, I would say that I spent approximately 3 1/2 hours on the phone using bluetooth (air pods pro), 1.5 hours poking around to see how the hardware worked compared to the Pixel 6 Pro, and 1 hour or some browsing the internet. It took me approximately 3.5 hours to backup my Pixel 6 Pro, flash the Pixel Pro 7 with GrapheneOS, and restore the backup to the Pixel Pro 7. SeedVault is notoriously slow. The backup, restore, flashing time should not be included in the battery life time, since I had the Pixel 7 Pro on a charging stand during this process.
Disclaimer: this was my experience, and your mileage may vary.
gosrox Im verry happy i chose to buy a pixel and put on GOS.
Please consider a donation, hopefully recurring and however small or big, to support the project.
f13a-6c3a Well ahead of you.
@GrapheneOS I encountered a new bug on my normal 7. When you are in the Contacts app and if it's empty (no contacts) and you click "ADD ACCOUNT" buitton it just tries bringing up a new window or app(all black) and disappears then nothing happens. I assume it is crashing in the background. You can repeat this as many times as you want,
Kamaehuakanaloa SeedVault took about 2 hours to backup my data on my Pixel Pro 6 and about 2 hours to restore it to my new Pixel Pro 7. Most app settings came over correctly. I was a bit surprised to see that my contacts in the native Contacts app did not, but this was easily remediated by backing them up on the Pro 6 and importing them to the Pro 7. Pin scrambling setting did not transfer, and a few others I will detail below, but I have what appears to be a fully functional Pixel Pro 7 running GrapheneOS, and got my first OS update this morning. Wifi, bluetooth and LTE (Verizon) all work as expected, although neither the Wifi or bluetooth settings were automatically transferred. Maybe this is by design, but I am just speculating.
Many thanks to the GrapheneOS Dev Team for their incredible work. I will take the necessary steps to become a regular contributor so that I can do my part in insuring y'all have the necessary financial resources to continue your work. If anyone knows if this can be done via crypto, can you please point me in the right direction.
DeMArcus Battery life should be better than stock OS but we are aware of an issue which may potentially cause some limited battery drain.
Whatever it was - 5x zoom Video for gcam works now flawlessly since todays update. Great work.
How is the experimental build working for you? Are you able to daily drive it?
jumpdeer I have completely switched over to my Pixel 7 Pro as my sole phone. The GOS Dev Team deserve a huge round of applause for getting the "experimental" version out almost a soon as they had the P7's in their hands. I realize I am assuming significant risk using an experimental version of GOS on a PR phone, but feel confident enough to do so. Others may have different experiences, but to date, I am very pleased.
As a note, I do not have GPS installed on my phone, so I can't speak to anything with regards to how well it ported. My personal feelings are if an app requires GPS, then that app does not meet my threat model, and therefore doesn't get installed on my phone.

I've been running GrapheneOS on my Pixel 7 Pro for 2 days now. Haven't ran into any issues related to GrapheneOS yet. Google Play Services installed and all apps work fine.
The only issue I have is Android 13 related. I can't use my VPN with Block connections without VPN on while on a mobile network. It works fine on WiFi. It is a known upstream issue.
Installed same day as release, P7P. Three apps that are malfunctioning after system installation (all worked fine on stock): Best Buy (can't login, crashes); Nest (can login, can't get to main screen as it loads and freezes, nor can you make a yes/no selection on the 'use this phone location for home/away' if it appears, as it freezes in both instances; and Papa John's (can't login, also can't select a store, both throw errors but no crash). These were not issues with a P6P running Graphene.
The first time I went to enter my 'safety & emergency' details in settings, the settings app crashed, but a second try then proceeded as normal. The automatic brightness tends to go way darker than it should in my environment (overhead lighting), requiring it to be raised manually; I don't think this differs from stock, just a note.
One thing I noticed - probably it has an impact on battery life too - is the Battery Manager settings resetting themselves to default when restarting the phone. Did you guys observe that too?
