  • GOS on Pixel Fold 2 or P9P ?

Hello,

l'm thinking of buying the upcoming Pixel Fold 2 rather than the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro.

Does the Pixel Fold running GrapheneOS have any disadvantages in regard to privacy and security compared to a standard Pixel Pro ?

Thank you

boldsuck I'm hoping that Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL will also have 16GB of RAM, honestly. Remember that these phones will be supported for 7 years. It's good for them to have specs which seem unneeded now. During that 7 year period, they might very well be able to take advantage of that.

As an example, when GrapheneOS makes an app to be able to run and manage virtual machines, the extra RAM will certainly come in handy. :)

SilentSchizoid Pixel Fold doesn't have security/privacy disadvantages compared to the phone form factor devices. If you compare the Pixel Fold with 7th gen devices, they're on par. The 8th gen devices are ahead due to having MTE support, but that's to be expected, as the Pixel Fold was essentially just a 7th gen device with a fancy form factor.

boldsuck most of us are looking for an affordable and reasonably secure device for our daily tasks. This won't be it. It's whopping price tag will make it out of reach of 99℅ of us.

SilentSchizoid Early rumors suggest that the Pixel 9 Pro XL is likely going to be smaller than the Pixel 8 Pro. The regular Pixel 9 pro is looking like it'll be 6.1 inches, with the XL variant being 6.5, as opposed to 6.7 for the Pixel 8 Pro.

It's all rumors at this point, though, nothing official.

matchboxbananasynergy Yes, but I really don't want the 9 pro XL going smaller screen... that's what the 9 Pro is for... hmmm....
