Hello all, I just installed GrapheneOS for the first time and am noticing some severely slow download speeds post installation. I'm trying to set-up my phone with some apps from F-Droid and the phone itself is taking an absurdly long time to download the simplest of thing. 11.3mb app from F-Droid is going on 5-minutes with only 3.9mb downloaded so far. It's not a network issue, the slow speeds are isolated to the phone, my desktop and other devices over WiFi are unaffected.

Can this be an issue from Graphene installation? Any ideas on troubleshooting and correcting from here?

Thanks in advance.

Aurora Store downloads are also very slow, haven't tried direct downloads via browser yet and haven't tried using Play Store since the point of installing Graphene was to move away from Google.

thechosenjon Do a network test, see what comes up and use that to verify speeds.

After that, check it under mobile data and your WiFi. Also check your Wifis signal strength

Are all these devices, such as your PC, using the same WiFi network? Are they in the same area?

      SOLVED!

Graphene, or I somehow, enabled scrambling of my device MAC address and that was causing my router to not recognize and throttle the device. I went and forgot the network, re-added it from scratch, and made sure to use the device's MAC address on my home network and now I'm getting full download speeds as expected.

thechosenjon MAC randomization is done automatically for anti-fingerprinting reasons, glad to see you got it fixed however, yw

thechosenjon MAC randomization is a privacy feature and is even ON in stock. Why did your router throttle unknown devices? Isn't WiFi secure enough?
