This is probably a very dumb question.
But although Android Auto is working, the music that's playing or magic Earth or any other apps that I use don't actually show up on the car screen. Am I doing something wrong? Or is that just how it's supposed to be and only the phone, calendar and Google maps and voice can be used via the car's screen?

Thank you so much!

RRZishe only apps designated to be compatible with Android Auto show up. I tested it yesterday, and Magic Earth showed up and worked for me. I installed Magic Earth from the Play Store. Maybe that has something to do with why it showed up for me and not for you?

brightjob4495 Thank you for responding. I installed magic Earth from the Play store too. Did you have to enable any setting to get magic Earth to show up on the car?

RRZishe after enabling android auto from the sandboxed play settings, like the android auto description says in the apps app, nothing. It worked seamlessly, and all my android auto compatible apps showed up

I had a similar problem, for me, it helped to reinstall the apps; then they appeared in the launcher.

erleo Thanks. I wish there was some solution because now I have no clue which apps work with Android Auto and which don't until I reinstall them. Also, I don't like reinstalling apps because then I have to reconfigure them.

            But thanks for the advice!

Hey guys, I'm having the same issue with no apps other than the defaults appearing on screen. I cannot solve this by redownloading however, and apps from the GPlay store also don't work. Can anyone confirm 100% that FOSS apps from FDroid or GitHub etc work?

Also, do I need Gapps to have network permissions for this to work?

            Thanks

            treequell You. Are. The. Best.

Thank you so so so so so so so much!

What kind of permissions does g services need?

For some reason although magic Earth shows up in the app list on the car and The sound also comes through the car, I can't actually see the GPS on the car screen. When I press on magic Earth, all it says is "no new messages during this drive".

Does anyone know how to fix this?

            Thanks a million!

Was just about to comment that this was my solution. Thanks a lot!

Same issue here. The posted solution from Reddit works, but I'm curious why this is happening. Do apps have to be installed from the Play Store for them to officially show up? I use Aurora Store.

Empirically it seems somebody inside Google coded it up that way.
