The only key thing which would make a tonne of people install Graphene is self destruction mode, like what iOS devices with their security enclave (and some androids) have so after 10 incorrect attempts the device erases everything and encrypts on itself so it isn’t recoverable.

Apart from Sandboxed Play Services and IPC angle, there are other aspects of user profiles that make them attractive, for example:
- Having profile data encrypted at rest unless opened, e.g. password manager or some sensitive data
- Separate VPN / Orbot per profile
- Using the same phone by family members, e.g. kids
It sounds like limiting app communication is on the road map for near future. My assumption is that with this, you can pick and choose which apps can see other apps, limiting which apps Google Services are aware of, and this eliminating the need for a separate profile.
