Hello everyone, I've not seen many reviews of the OS by users of this forum so I wanted to ask the question :)
- What bought you to install GrapheneOS?
- What convinience did you give up (if any)?
- Did you revert back to stock android?
My experience is as follows:
I installed GrapheneOS two weeks ago to experience it. I'm of course a big believer of privacy so it was fitting. I installed the proton suite of apps and communication apps like signal (and whatsapp unfortunatly) as APKs given that the play store was missing.
I used F-droid to download droidify which allowed me to download libretube (as a youtube alternative) and innertune (music streaming) and things were looking good. I then discovered "aurora store" from droidify which allowed me to anonymously download apps from the Google Play Store.
Recently I went travelling a little and found that the lack of the features offered by Google maps and my banking apps were not working as expected due to missing google play services. I decideded to download the sandboxed play services and things have been perfect since then
Thanks GrapheneOS team!
