What bought you to install GrapheneOS?
My iPhone is about to get EOL'd. The newest iPhone only supports eSIM, which is very unappealing. I also didn't want to pay an exorbitant fee for a device I barely use. Google Pixel phones offer comparable longevity for a cheaper price, and GrapheneOS offers better security with minimal dependence on Google. I would rather use a free software operating system than a proprietary one. I also needed an Android test device.
I intended to put off buying this phone until the end of the year, but there was a discount which reduced cost-of-ownership significantly, so I bought it recently.
What convinience did you give up (if any)?
Coming from iOS, the ability to grab scrollbars. Most things are more convenient. I can finally back up my Signal messages, for example. I've found Android phones far easier to use than iPhones because they connect to my computers without fuss, and the user interface is better-designed.
Did you revert back to stock android?
I would only do this if my bank disabled SMS-based verification, Google Play apps were no longer installable on GrapheneOS, or development was discontinued (in which case I might use Lineage). This phone is partially for work/development. If GNU/Linux-based phones improve significantly by the time this phone is EOL'd, I will likely use one of those operating systems on my personal phone.
