[deleted] I'm Glad you mentioned this, never heard of it. From what I know, everyone recommends Obtainium, is this one any better?
Also I am having some issues myself hooking up the brave github to Obtainium. Obtainium always pulls the latest builds, which in Brave's case are the nightly builds, and are pre-releases.

Any way to hook either of these solutions to only find the release build instead of nightly?

Cheers

I have had issues setting up Obtanium to update Brave as well which is why I mentioned FFU as an option. I wouldn't say FFU is better as it mostly focuses on browsers while Obtanium can update any app.

In FFU if you install Brave only that app will be updated. I'm on 1.61.109 which is on page two with loads of Beta and Nightly releases and pre-releases posted more recently and FFU knows these are different apps.

protonuser2 Obtainium always pulls the latest builds, which in Brave's case are the nightly builds, and are pre-releases.

If you look at the Brave github release page, the stable versions have a title that starts with the word release. So in obtainium optpions for Brave you can fill the filter release titles by regular expression field with .*Release.*. Also tick the option include prereleases.

This way obtainium will ignore betas and nightly.

traveller I like the shields option in brave, if a site doesn't work due to blocking I can simply toggle off shields with no fuss and load a page
I like the easy quick search icon dead center at bottom which allows me to instantly pull up keyboard for a search when I open the app
Vanadium doesn't have clearing history on exit
Fingerprinting: I think brave is more anonymous since it has a larger userbase than vanadium, so my ability to mitigate tracking by sites via fingerprinting is better in brave than vanadium.

traveller better to get Apks directly from source rather than relying on google store.

Generally avoiding any request touching google is more ideal and I will pursue that. I only uses Aurora when I need to, such as getting my Chase banking app, where security is the priority and also only place to get it

Using your tip I subbed "android" which does the trick when entering the android MullvadVPN app into Obtanium.

      Many thanks.

Edit: trying to figure out fancy formatting (which I failed at) 😁
