as all of you know that it is not possible to record the call in android 13 using third party apps
only option either a native inbuilt call recorder app or aosp dialer with call recording function
Other custom ROMS using this patch to enable the call recording in the aosp dialer
This call recording option only visible if it is legal in your country otherwise it won't
is it possible to include in the grapheneos ? as no option is left for android 13 users

https://github.com/LineageOS/android_packages_apps_Dialer/tree/lineage-19.1/java/com/android/dialer/callrecord
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_packages_apps_Dialer

this is a very important function which helps in taking orders, conversation and also security wise its useful in case some one harasses you and family members atleast in those countries in which its legal
if any other option or any third party app call recording app working in android 13 then please tell us

sorry for my bad english and if i did something wrong/against the community

Thanks

t1me in regards to first party AOSP solutions a quick search of the forum throws up this previous discussion:

While the response there may be blunt I agree that this would be a nice feature to have.
That said, as GrapheneOS is focused on security and privacy improvements first and foremost, this may not be possible to implement at the moment.
GrapheneOS does aim to be highly usable as well as secure, so we thank you for pitching in with this idea!
Keep in mind that the project could also use more resources in order to be able to facilitate more requests like this.

Please consider donating. If everybody pitched in, the project would be able to have more full time developers working on all kinds of new features!

You can find out more information about donating to the project here:

If you can though you can try build the OS yourself and integrate those patches using the instructions here, and if you find it easy enough to maintain then you can suggest doing so: https://grapheneos.org/build

For third party solutions I know Josh of Side of Burritos showed an app called Cube ACR.
That is not a recommendation nor endorsement from me, I don't use it, but simply pointing you in the direction of a possible alternate solution for your own consideration.

Ugly Google kludge but I use Google's Recorder app running on a second phone beside me to record a first phone that is set on speakerphone. The instant transcript is a killer feature of the Recorder app.

I've removed a couple of messages here advising the use of a root method for this purpose. GrapheneOS is a security and privacy focused project and we HIGHLY advise against such practices and this forum is not realistically the place to discuss such things.

give me device tree link for 4a and 4a 5g as i can't find the device tree

MetropleX advising the use of a root method for this purpose

I phrased it specifically as a DOWNSIDE. Not as a recommendation. Your choice to hide basically the ONLY possible option for this is not appropriate.

And there is more to security than not being hacked into. Another side of security is maintaining evidence to defend yourself in court, which includes recordings of phone calls.

abcZ Your choice to hide basically the ONLY possible option for this is not appropriate.

I completely appreciated your emphasis on it being a downside which is why I added the response emphasising what the posts were about so people could continue their own research elsewhere, there are numerous places to discuss this option across the web, this forum however is the:

If you unlock your bootloader and root your device you are then NOT running GrapheneOS which will be confirmed by Auditor when you run it afterwards. As such the discussion would no longer be appropriate for the GrapheneOS Discussion Forum as you are no longer discussing GrapheneOS.

@flawedworld It would be a violation of the security model and we will never support root

@Hulk GrapheneOS with root is not GrapheneOS
        Source: [Matrix]

@TommyTran732 No point in using GrapheneOS if you are rooting. You are cripling your security with that.
        Source: [Matrix]

@june:grapheneos.org we also are not exposing root support in any way. they can compile the OS themselves with root support or leave the bootloader unlocked with a patched boot image knowing they have ruined the security and privacy of GrapheneOS.

@akc3n Root destroys the Android Security Model.

@matchboxbananasynergy In a way, even if it's possible, a rooted GrapheneOS installation isn't really GrapheneOS anymore :)
