I think I read somewhere in the matrix chat that the p8/p8p experimental releases do not have a hardened kernel, is that correct and if so, should it matter when deciding to daily drive now?
Pixel 8 / 8 Pro releases available

applesbana I am unaware of this... can a Dev confirm either way... ?
On a freshly flashed Pixel 8, it seems there is duplicated entries under the "Hotspot & tethering" menu (Settings -> Network & internet -> Hotspot & tethering). Under "Personal dictionary" (Settings -> System -> Keyboard -> Personal dictionary), there is also a duplicated entry for "English (United States)", the second one ending with: "#u-fw-mon-mu-cels". I do not have any other device to check if it is an Android 14 issue or if it is specific to P8/P8 Pro devices.

MrSmith With the Pixel 8 I do confirm the duplicated in Hotspot & tethering but do not see it in Personal dictionary. With the Pixel 6a (with Android 14) there is no duplicated at all, so yes, specific of P8.
Other than that, using P8 for two days and all great, did not notice anything else.
Sorry for the double post, but it seems I cannot edit my comment.
The lock screen clock style customization is also broken (nothing appears). The clock color & size customization seems to work fine.
Concerning the duplicated "Personal dictionary" entry, it has something to do with "Regional preferences" (Settings -> System -> Languages -> Regional preferences). Basically if anything else than "Use app default" is set, the duplicated entry appears.

Please see my second comment on how to reproduce the Personal dictionary issue, I was unable to edit the first one to include the additional details.

This is because the current build contains a fix for that screen by GrapheneOS to make the settings appear and an upstream fix to make these settings appear. As a result, they now appear twice. :) Has been fixed and will be resolved in the next release.
MrSmith The lock screen clock style customization is also broken (nothing appears). The clock color & size customization seems to work fine.
Different clock styles have not been enabled yet - not specific to 8th gen Pixels. Unclear if there are any clock styles in AOSP rather than only stock, remains to be seen.

Thank you :) Only remain the Personal dictionary bug, then.

on the 16th October release, Pixel 8 Pro:
when i take a screenshot and immediately press the Edit icon on the screenshot notification at the bottom of the screen, it says it's not possible. I have Google Photos installed.
I can edit the screenshot when I then go into Google Photos myself and open the screenshot myself.

After buying my original iPhone back in 2007 and many more in the years that followed, i just flashed my first android phone (Pixel 8 Pro) and I can't believe how easy it was!
The only thing I can't get working is the Pixel Watch 2 that came with my phone. It worked with stock android but after installing GrapheneOS the Watch app crashes in the last setup step with the text "Additional Legal Teams and Disclosures". I click accept and the app crashesh. When I reopen the app I see that the watch is connected but there is a message stating something went wrong and opting to reset the watch to factory.
I see more posts of "prompting to reset the watch to factory" even on stock android so I don't know if it is something GrapheneOS related.
But great work!
applesbana Thx for that... will read...
Whats the next phase? Beta -> Stable?

rover87 Have you activated the Pixel Watch service on a device running something other than GrapheneOS? You need to do that first. There is some unpublished dependency that GrapheneOS is missing in order to activate cell service in addition to needing the Play Store, Google Services Framework and/or Google Play Services.
See this thread for more information: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/1236-pixel-watch-and-grapheneos
[deleted] I don't think that's required.

Make sure play services has the nearby devices permission, and install the "Google" app (the app is literally called Google). Then, go through the setup again and let us know if it doesn't work.

You don't think what's required?
Is there any update if face unlock is secure enough for GrapheneOS?
