B4 the android 14 update when I would disable sensors globally, the camera and mic would still work which is cool because there is already a toggle/shortcut to disable them globally. Since upgrading to android 14, disabling sensors also disables the camera and mic which doesn't make much sense because disabling sensors helps improve battery life because the gyroscope for example doesn't work and some people don't even need it. Was this intended or just a bug?

Which shortcut are you talking about? It sounds like you're talking about the "sensors off" quick setting tile, which is for developers, not for users. I don't think GrapheneOS devs have changed the functionality of that tile, in fact, they actively discourage people from using it.

This is very likely an upstream change, not one that was made by GrapheneOS.

other8026 Yes, the quick tile "sensors off" option. I don't think it's an AOSP change with android 14 because I have an rog phone 7 with android 13 that disables the camera and mic with "sensors off" on, while my pixel 6a with GOS based on android 13 didn't. If it's not a change or a bug, perhaps the OEM could change the functionality of the toggle.

Honestly, I have no idea. I tried poking around and as far as I can tell the tile just disables all sensors, which includes the camera and microphone. That said, I couldn't figure out what changed or why.

The things I did see, though, were not touched by GrapheneOS developers.
