Why doesn't the messenger app show timestamps for SMS delivery reports?

Open the app and then go to Settings -> Advanced to enable it.

Yes, Settings -> Advanced -> SMS delivery reports will turn on this setting in the GrapheneOS messenger app. Enabling this setting will display a checkbox below each sent message, indicating that it has been delivered. Nevertheless, even after enabling the setting it still doesn't show the timestamp, just a checkbox.

Why doesn't the messenger app show timestamps for SMS delivery reports? Does privacy also mean dumbed down?

What do you mean by delivery report?
Do you mean the timestamp at the bottom of each sms?

    For me it does show.

@Zahlerim Just do a long press on your message, and then press the "i" button on the top to get message details.

Hat It only shows 1 timestamp for sent. It does not show the delivery timestamp.

Yes you are right, the received timestamp is for received SMS. This app is from AOSP, and the only updates would be for security, bug or if many users will ask for something like dark mode. You could try SMS alternative only if you don't use several users profiles.
