Hi all
Newbie to Grapheneos here. I have the quick open camera problem that's been mentioned on this forum many times but I think I have a slight variation after trying out lots of the suggested fixes. I am on Grapheneos Android 13 on a Pixel 7a and I've installed Google Camera in addition to the Grapheneos stock camera.
Here are the settings I've checked:
- Settings > Security > Allow camera access when the device is locked > ON
- Settings > System > Gestures > Quickly open Camera > ON
- Settings > Apps > All apps > [Grapheneos] Camera > Open by default, the only option here is to toggle 'Open supported links' - I cannot seem to clear any preferences.
- Settings > Apps > All apps > Camera [Google] Camera> Open by default > Clear default preferences
- [Quick Tile] > Camera > [ON]
Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:
- With screen unlocked, double press power button
- Dialogue pops up asking me which Camera app to use. It allows me to select either Camera app and you can (for either) set it to 'Just once' or 'Always'. I Select [Google] Camera and 'Always'.
- [Google] Camera opens fine
- Close/navigate away from [Google] Camera
- With screen still unlocked, double press power button
- [Google] Camera comes on as expected
- Close/navigate away from [Google] Camera
- Lock screen
- With screen locked, double press power button
- Unlock with PIN/fingerprint (no camera app pops up until the device is unlocked)
- Dialogue pops up, this time [Grapheneos] Camera is the 'primary' option for which you can select 'Just once' or 'Always', while [Google] Camera is secondary for which you cannot select 'Just once' or 'Always'.
- Select [Google] Camera from the dialogue
- [Google] Camera opens
- Repeats steps 8 and 9
- Same thing happens - device must be unlocked and then the choose camera dialogue pops up with the [Grapheneos] Camera as the 'primary' option
Is there any way to make [Google] Camera open when double pressing the power button without having to unlock the device please?
Thanks!
