User2288 since you are on the original OS where google services have root access

False. Google Play services and other components are highly privileged but still not much compared to Root access.

User2288 Yes, that would be great. I have been thinking the same thing as of late. There needs to be more guides to get more people involved and to help the new users. I have a knack for making things easy to read for people and trying to get my blog some more traction as well. If you write down some things to help new comers that would be awesome!

[deleted] Hey gabehcuod, I received the device and after the initial set up on the google side of things I went right to OEM unlocking. The toggle slide and the device slide it is now unlocked. Appreciate your insight.

User2288 THANK YOU Brother. The device looks new. To me. I see no scratches. In my zeal (there is that bull in the china shop crap) I started it went through the Google process, skipping this an that and I connected to one of my VLANS to update. I can dispose of the VLAN easy enough perhaps it won't know.

I've got to go through everyone's replies to comprehend all I'm reading. You know, old head slow...WTH is the old guy in the left lane??? I think I'll reset everything and just "play with it" for a few days. Sorry everyone, that doesn't sound right. I don't want to get in trouble with the Admin folks.

        Thank you again user 2288.

Subliminal Sure Subliminal. If I can help in some way. Honestly when it comes to all of this I'm kinda or I am a dufus. Remember, as the man said; "A man has got to know his limitations."

user2288 and subliminal, I think it is a TOP SHELF idea. Josh over at sideofburritos has some things and he does a super job. If you guys could collaborate and make vids to help us noobs, (greenhorns, in my days vernacular). I think that would be IN-EFFING-CREDiBLE.

I'll be glad to be you guinea pig.

[deleted] Hi not_a_homosapien. I don't understand this yet. Though I do understand "ROOT" due to my last year learning Linux. Learning- by which I mean, how to use it.

tws If you're in dire need of help I might be able to Zoom Call you to talk you through the processs

We would have to carry this conversation in a separate thread or something as its not related to OP.

Ahoy. This looks like a discussion I could really use. I'm a former mac prisoner who is new to grapheneOS/Android, so I'm going to ask some stupid questions. Be gentle. :)thanks

Thank you. I will assemble a short list of questions phrased as best as I can. Android language is new to me. Thanks.

There is a wealth of information on the site that it might be good to read first.

I found it to be very informative and valuable.

Stardust Don't worry about 'android language', as long as it gets the point across we are here to help :)

First question: I have a pixel6 with Android 14. When I tap on my visual voicemails, they disappear before the message is even finshed. I check my carrier VM immediately, and it is gone there also. Any ideas?
