Are there any plans (even remote ones) to ever sync a GOS phone with a GOS tablet? Or would that mean a whole other business for Graphene which they aren't interested in getting into? I'm not talking about cloud storage, even if it is a question I also have, but rather just a mechanism to sync devices.

Writing this, I am not even sure if my question makes sense but I'll post it anyway as someone who actually understands these things might have a reply (other than "I agree, you really don't udnerstand anything" lol)

primipare what degree of syncing do you want? kde connect may be a good solution. i doubt the GOS team will develop one specifically for GOS devices as there are other existing solutions.

I can use my NAS to sync documents. But instinctively, when I see a GOS tablet et a GOS Phone I'm think I'd love to have the same set up on both: apps, settings, opened documents etc.
It'd be great to be able to work on both in the same way as a tablet and a phone are closer to one another in how you use them than a phone and a laptop.
Or am I completely offside, here?

primipare Half of what you are looking for would require deeper and more invasive access and permissions than any regular app can or should get. And they would have to know what to look for and where. Similar sync apps for Google and Samsung are built by themselves for those exact reasons.

Maybe it could be added as a bi-feature of the upcoming backup that is replacing Seedvault, but they are too few devs atm to fullfill all our wishes.

primipare with a bit of luck the next generation of pixel phones will support external displays and a desktop mode (similar to Samsung DeX).

This might be just what you want: Everything in one device, no sync needed. When you get home and want to work on a bigger screen, simply plug in a display, mouse and keyboard et voilĂ .

N1b Do you think once this capability is released, that Graphene could apply it to older Pixels or is it something specific to the Pixel 8 Hardware?

chock-a-block I habe no idea, but I guess this will be not possible hardware-wise on the older Pixels...
