I was wondering, given the impossibility of using Google Pay (NFC), if anyone had tried Garmin pay or SwatchPAY! with GrapheneOS. Do they work decently to be able to pay? Or are they unusable?
Thank you in advance.

As far as NFC Payments go the only options I am aware of that don't require Google Wallet or an external device (smartwatch) are Stocard and Curve (Curve Pay) both require an account and while the former should work as close to out of the box as possible, the latter needs to be downloaded from the Huawei App Gallery alongside the HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) Core app too.

I too will be interested if Garmin Pay can be setup Alphaleus

I tested Garmin pay this morning and it worked perfectly :)

Once the card is added to Garmin pay you can leave the phone at home so I was confident it was going to work.

Pixel 6 GOS (with sandbox google services), Garmin fenix 6X Sapphire, Starling bank card.

Is a Garmin watch required to use Garmin pay? Would it be possible to install and use the app with pay functionality without possessing a Garmin watch?

thequint I can't see any option in the Garmin Connect app to pay with the app, nor can I see a Garmin Pay app in the play store. So I would say that you need a Garmin watch to use Garmin Pay.
You have to enter a supported bank card details in to the Garmin Connect app, which is then synced to the wallet on the watch. The watch then contains a copy/clone of the card which can be used "offline" (doesn't need to be connected to a smart phone or wifi.).

I confirm that GarminPay works with the watch smoothly.

Additionally, what I liked about it is that you can make payments well over the maximum payment limit for contactless credit/debit cards. This is possible, I think, due to a PIN that you setup inside Garmin Connect app. When you wear the watch and decide to use GarminPay, you have to enter the PIN first time. You don't have to enter the PIN for consecutive payments as long as you don't take them off. It appears, that the built-in Heart Rate monitor is used to track when you take the watch off.
