Feature-Request: I would like the choice to enable this automatically, if possible.
Swipe-up on App Drawer to automatically bring up keyboard
Any solutions?
This won't be added to the launcher, in all likelihood, you can tap on the search bar to search.
The keyboard automatically comes up when you select an input field.
If you just open the keyboard, how would you determine which input field is selected? And if you don't select an input field, why would you want the keyboard open? What would consume the keys pressed?
It was convenient to have the keyboard come up automatically when I opened the app drawer on the stock launcher because I search to access apps. The auto-keyboard saved me loads of time as I didn't have to reach across the screen to tap the search bar, especially when using the phone with one hand. It sucks that this won't be added. If there are any workarounds (preferably battery-efficient), please let me know.

tekrekon I would say people who like to keep only few apps and keep their app drawer tidy, find pop up keyboard incredibly annoying, since they know where what is and don't need to search for apps. I mean, you've got the search box, so use it. Or use a different launcher that has desired functionality.
Of course, but having an option for it wouldn't hurt.
tekrekon Since GrapheneOS ships essentially the AOSP launcher, if the AOSP launcher grows such an option it will not cost the GrapheneOS developers any effort.
In theory it could be productive to star an existing AOSP issue about this, or file a new one if there isn't one already, or to contribute such code to AOSP.
But because this wouldn't be a security or privacy enhancement it's unlikely to be done by the GrapheneOS developers.
