Hi there. After resetting my phone (on GOS), I ran into problems downloading wallpapers on Internet (I could not delete the zip file once done). I do not know if this is related but my wallpapers are completely distorted.
Moreover, my launcher does not show any apps. I mean when you swipe from the bottom. No recent apps.

I clear all app storage of files and launcher and it does not help. What can I do ?
(Ps : I finally managed to delete the zip files)

[deleted] I had the same issue while using multiple user profiles.
    Are you using them?

Yes, this happens on my second user profile.

Erratum : I just realized that my .zip files which I messed up with when I downloaded them in Vanadium are not deleted

How to set up a wallpaper that is not completely distorted ?

I mean... It is not okay to deliver an OS where you cannot set correctly wallpapers... (2nd user profile)

While I share your frustration, this isn't a GrapheneOS issue. It's an known upstream bug from Google through the AOSP base. As it's not a security/privacy issue, it's not usually something the developers work to resolve.

I wonder what fraction of users never try setting wallpaper? Personally I have never tried.

[deleted] It's an upstream bug: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/1461

You will encounter the same things on Stock OS or other alt OSes. AOSP doesn't give much love to secondary user profiles, and most upstream bugs that people on GrapheneOS face are due to the usage of secondary profiles due to them having been ignored by AOSP for the most part.

With the release of the Pixel Tablet, Google seems to be paying a lot more attention to secondary user profiles, so I expect to see a rapid increase of fixing these bugs in the future.

Thanks for replying and helping people in the forum.
No problem I understand ! It does not fall on the scope of the project. Will keep a black wallpaper.
I was just wondering if I could do something about it, if I had messed up myself or not.

Thank you. Sorry for not searching the issue on GitHub. I will do it from now on.
There are so much bugs not related to GOS !
You may want to label the thread as solved ? @matchboxbananasynergy

[deleted] FWIW, I look for high res landscape photos (e.g. unsplash) with a horizon in the background and little else in the foreground. That way, when it stretches/zooms, it's harder to tell the whole thing is screwed up. Good luck!

FYI, wallpapers work correctly and are not distorted if they are set up via an app like Doodle or Breezy Weather
