Hi,
my pixel 6A wouldnt start up from one moment to the other for some reason. It seemed dead.
When I plugged it in the charger it looked like it was starting up, then it went to the google logo, then it would normally go to graphene logo but didnt. Instead the logo of charging battery came up. I left it for about 1hr charging but always the same happened. it wouldnt even let me go into the recovery mode or anything. When i unplug the phone from charger its like its completely dead, not charged at all. Does that mean the battery is broke or so?

Many thanks for any help!
Denise

deniseBobby That's alarming. And it could indicate a hardware problem.

But first, can you try a completely different charging system - a different cable and a different power source?

thanks, yes i tried different cables and power sources. 3 different ones :-(
    Same thing is happening.

deniseBobby Plug phone into original charger with original cable. When the phone is staring up, press the volume up button to pause loading the OS. Leave it like that for an hour. Then press volume up button again to resume booting.

thank you, as soon as i plug it in there is the option pointing to "power button" to pause loading. (not volume button up). did you mean that or the actual volume button up? because when i did that the screen went still to google logo.

i have it now paused in the loading process...

unfortunately no change. When i pressed power button again after an hour it went back back to battery sign and then back booting process. it keeps repeating that

its weird also because it doesnt do any charging whatsoever. there is only power in the phone when its plugged in

Hi Denise, have you tried a charger with PD-charging? (Power Delivery) I have seen others that have had problems with charging, but it worked with PD-charging. I don't know if your phone supports PD, but it's worth a try.
              Maybe also try wireless charging?

                Panda-na
Hi, no i have never heard of pd charging. Or wireless charging to be honest! How can i do that?

                6a's don't have wireless charging.

If you can't get anything other than the charging icon, I suspect that would be because the low-level software doesn't want to try booting the OS until the charge exceeds some baseline level. If the battery never hits that baseline level then you may be permanently unable to boot.

Since you are getting the same results with various chargers and cables, I suspect you have a hardware failure. Maybe it's just a bad battery, or maybe it's a bad something else (I don't know where inside a 6a the battery-management decisions are made). A bad battery would probably be the best case, and it doesn't seem implausible given the symptoms you describe.

If it were mine I would probably be taking it to a repair shop, because I'm not DIY with respect to phones. Depending on when you bought your 6a, it might well still be under Google's warranty. There is some recent discussion here about repair shops, factory reset, and/or divulging your PIN/passphrase.

I hope some of this information is useful to you. Best wishes! If possible, let us know what you find out?

yes thank you. Im thinking also its the battery and got nothing to do with software.

I will bring it back to the shop, i only got it about 7 month ago. the only thing Im concerned about is, that when you wipe of the google software the phone looses its warranty. But to me its pretty clear that its a hardware fault, so they should take it back anyway - unless they are being difficult which could be possible.

Anyway thank you for a ll the help and ill let you know how it goes! :-)

                    I think I have read otherwise, though I can't cite a source.
