I want to install GOS to a new Pixel 6a. I have installed GOS twice before but using Windows 10 and Techlore instructions where I deleted the first few lines of the bat file. This will be my first attempt using Web Installer, so I would like to review the procedures so I understand fully before beginning.

I have a Dell Ispiron laptop, Ubuntu Mate 22.04, plenty of free RAM and storage. I have already downloaded "bluejay-factory-2023051600", and installed "android-sdk-platform-tools-common". I am planning to use Chrome as my browser. My understanding is I need to take a few extra steps to Unlock bootloader for the P6a. From here I understand all I need to do is the following

command line "echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/bus/usb/drivers_autoprobe"

Then click on "Flash Release"

Then click on Lock bootloader.

Am I missing anything? Any other packages I need to install to Ubuntu? I really appreciate a review of my understanding. Thanks.

mrtoo The web installer is very simple and does everything for you. Provided you follow the all the pre-requisite steps first, and use the factory USB-C to USB-C cable, it just works.

mrtoo as treequell said. I an agree that the web installer is so easy and simple to use.

I was hoping someone would confirm my understanding of the instructions, primarily all the pre-requisites. Anyway, so far I wish I did not select the P6a, since you need to update prior to unlocking bootloader. I have been at it for 5 hours now and the system keeps finding additional updates, and the P6a is awfully slow at applying updates.

treequell It worked. I must have understood prerequisites. But I did wast time downloading image ahead of time.
