Hello, having a problem with Graphene on this device. I think it's the Graphene OS, anyways. Am not able to consistently do shut down of device. When I choose the Power Off option, usually it just turns itself back on. Might be a few minutes later, sometimes right away. I do see the Shutting Down notice, so I know I'm not accidentally choosing Restart.
Super annoying! Turning it off and putting the phone away, only to find out sometime later that it's turned itself on again!
Did not happen at first on initial install. Was fine for many months. Than after some update I guess, I realized what it was doing. Had me worried as to what was going on.

Anybody come across this or have ideas? Thank you very much.

treebee Could it be a glitchy power button? What if you remove the phone from the case, if you have one, turn it off, and place it flat on a table?

Thank you DeOu. Pressing the Power Button on the side of the phone does bring up the screen options. That's where I touch the screen to chose the "Power Off' option. It then informs me that it is 'Shutting Down'. So far that is normal. But, then as I stated, it randomly boots up again. Like right now. And earlier today. And yes, I took the phone out of the case and just have it lying on the desk. Both times. So to me that seems software related. If I press the side Power Button, I get three options now instead of 4. Choosing 'Power Off' again, shuts it down again. I think then it stays shut down.

This wasn't a problem when I installed Graphene and not for a bunch of updates later. Until one day I noticed the glitch.

treebee If it self-starts when out of the case, then the issue isn't related to the case pressing the power button, and thus is likely hardware or software.

Unfortunately, most of the things you might try next will be disruptive, so you would want good backups. You could try sideloading an OTA image, or factory resetting, or flashing back to Google's OS.

Or maybe if you talk to GrapheneOS developers on Matrix they might have you upload logs which might be diagnostic.

Thank you. I appreciate your responses. Exactly, not the case. I agree, those would be possible options but was hoping to not be 'disruptive'. ;-p Was thinking I could not be alone with this issue. Perhaps that suggests hardware more than software. Although, again, it did not do that initially. Would you suggest any particular person or direction on Matrix. Not familiar with my way around there.
