Hi guys, I want to switch to Graphene OS from iOS, my friend is using it but I still have 2 questions for which I am looking for an answer.

  1. Is somehow possible to download paid app like Threema messenger without putting Google account to Google play?

  2. Is somehow possible to setup Google Camera as default camera, so for example when I will be shooting picture trough Instagram app, it will be shooted trough Google Camera, not default Graphene OS camera app?

Appreciate all answers and help

    Hi there!

    1. If you want to buy an app from Play Store, you'll need to sign in with an account. You can installed Play Services and Store on GrapheneOS while containing them within the regular app sandbox via Sandboxed Google Play:

    https://grapheneos.org/features#sandboxed-google-play

    1. Android uses the system camera (in this case, GrapheneOS camera app) for system capture intents, so that's the camera that would be used.

You can of course install Google Camera separately and use it, though.
